The WWII Mustang measures measures 29.5"H x 26"L x 10"W. It features a fully detailed cockpit with sliding cover and retractable main wheels. The p51 mustang was the first U.S. built fighter in action after the fall of France, successfully engaging every air-born opponent from early Junkers to the Messerschmitt. Fast, powerful and maneuverable with 75 gallon tanks under each wing, its ability to fly 6-hour missions was unheard of at the time. In 1944 the Truman senate war investigating committee gave the mustang its highest rating as the most aerodynamically perfect pursuit plane in existence. It features sheet metal covering attached to light weight frame, hand built and finished, fully detailed cockpit with sliding cockpit canopy, retractable main wheels and unique historical plaque. The stand is included.
