This sextant is expertly crafted from solid brass and marked with a unique serial number. The sextant has an accurately divided German Silver scale, and a gear driven slow motion control. A powerful magnifier can be swung into position to assist in reading the vernier scale. The sextant's telescope has polished glass lenses and produces a sharp magnified image. The index mirror has three recessed adjustments. There are six tinted swing-arm filters with heavy brass filter mounts. On the back of the sextant is a hardwood handle. The sextant comes with a beautiful felt-lined hardwood case with an inlayed brass oval marked "Nautical Sextant, Stanley London, 1920". The sextant is 8" tall, 8 1/4 inches (21.0 cm) wide, and 4 1/4 inches (10.8 cm) deep. The sextant weighs 3 1/2 pounds (1.6 kg), the felt lined hardwood case weighs 3 pounds (1.4 kg). While this sextant is fully functional, it does not come with a certificate of calibration and is not intended for navigation.
